She was also very involved with 4H, showing almost every species of animal at the local shows. Now we’re fortunate to have Jocelyn helping the vets with our equine patients, as well as an occasional goat or chicken at the farm! And her love of animals doesn’t stop with work. Ask about the menagerie of animals she and her daughter have at home!

Liam Burke

Owner/Office Manager

Prior to joining Haymarket Vet Service, Liam gained a wide variety of experience from his career that first took him around the world and then landed him a position in Prince William County.  Now, you’ll usually find him managing the office, but he makes “guest appearances” on the road assisting the vets or dropping off medications to your barn.  He’s quick to answer the phone but be prepared to joke around with him when he does!  When not working at HVS, you’ll find Liam with his family, running the trails of the Battlefield, or in the barn with their four mini donkeys.

Mary Averill

Mary Averill

Account Services Specialist

Mary is the person that keeps our “books” organized at Haymarket Vet Service! Prior to being our bookkeeper, she had been an auditor for the federal government for over 30 years. Her favorite things about working here are speaking with our clients regularly and ensuring that all of their billing questions and problems are resolved. When she’s not working, Mary enjoys spending time with her family and three dogs, Copper, Chewy, and Teddy.

Alissa Graham

Alissa Graham

Alissa has been a vital member of the HVS team since 2001. She has excellent organizational skills and enjoys creating strong, lasting relationships with clients and their horses. Though she enjoys all equestrian disciplines, Quarter Horses have a special place in her heart and trail riding is one of her favorite past times. When she‘s not horsin’ around, she likes traveling, reading, photography, and spending time with her hubby and two kids.
Emily Graham

Emily Graham

Before starting her family, Emily was a vet assistant at HVS. Now that the kids are older, she’s back on the team in the office!  Emily grew up taking riding lessons before she found her passion with soccer but has always had a love for all animals. When Emily is not busy here, you can find her at the motorcross track with her husband cheering on their 2 boys, or ringside while their daughter is riding her pony, Chicken Bob.

Joanne Brown

Joanne Brown

Joanne is always willing to go the extra mile when communicating with clients about their horses!  She grew up in Southern Maryland, riding whenever she had the opportunity, and gained a lot of experience over the years.  She’s now an integral part of the office staff and enjoys getting to know all of our clients.  When not at the office, she spends time with her husband, two children, and their horses on a small farm in Rappahannock.

Patrick Burke

Patrick Burke

Patrick started helping out with the family business at a young age. At first, he occasionally rode with Dr. Katy just to get to know what goes on when we’re out on the road. Now, he’s an integral part of inventory management and learning how all of these medications can help us treat your horses. While high school still takes up the majority of his days, he still finds time to relax with our dogs, Rocky and Sadie, and he’s a competitive swimmer during the summer. You’ll most commonly see him with an Air Pod in an ear – ask what music he’s listening to!
